The Great British Summer brings a buzz of excitement to The Kitchen – few things beat an alfresco pint or glass of bubbly in The Kitchen Garden on a warm Summers day.
The seasons bring exceptional top quality British produce, and those who know The Kitchen know that we are passionate about sourcing locally, either from food heroes or much from our very own Veg Patch. If you walk around the garden you will see a huge array of fruit and vegetables that Emma, our Head Gardener has nurtured from seed. From salad leaves and radishes, broad beans and peas, new potatoes and red onions, beetroot, chard and even olives – all ready to pick and feature on the menus, not to forget the edible flowers that bring a splash of colour most dishes.
Over the warmer months the garden comes to life, with outside seating including deckchairs, and warm rugs to place over your knees for those cooler nights.
Big Bertha the pizza oven, and the Robata Grill (which is fondly called the ‘green egg’) are fired up for spontaneous Summer dining, alongside the Main Menu, Specials and Sunday Menu that you can order from. Once the sun sets and the fairy lights turn on in The Smoke Shack it almost feels like you’re on holiday.
We are completely family and dog friendly, so you can relax knowing there is a kids menu perfect for fussy eaters and water bowl for hot doggies.
Watch out for…
Over the Summer Big Bertha comes to life, serving wood fired Pizzas in the Smoke Shack from Friday 6pm-8pm and Sunday 4pm-8pm. Cooked to order, the pizzas are always a hit with families and friends who want an informal bite to eat.
Grilled & Smoked
The Robata Grill and Green Egg produce the most superb grilled and smoked meat and fish in the Shire! Perfect for alfresco dining. Come and try our Hot Garlic Smoked Prawns – with Saffron & Basil Mayo and Flower Pot Bread, or the Aberdeenshire Sirloin Steak on the Bone served with Wild Garlic Butter and Home Made Beef Dripping Chips… Simply delicious.
Wimbledon comes to The Kitchen! The best of British will, as always, be served – coupled with plenty of strawberries and cream, key matches will be shown in the bar with few special touches here and there!
Our menus change on a weekly, even daily, basis, reflecting the seasons and our passion for the finest market produce sourced from the local area. Head Chef Dan picks the fruit and veg straight from the garden and it reaches your plate within hours of being plucked from the ground – so each dish is sensational and fresh.
We continue our relationship with BYHP with £1 of every order of our Fish Cakes going to this amazing charity. Fish Cakes are one of our most popular dishes, and we are on target to raise £1,000 by the end of the year
